Citizenship Referendum

I read on the paper today that according to the polls the 'yes' vote seems to have the majority in the upcoming referendum... I was a bit shocked because I had thought a 'no' vote was inevitable due to the transparently weaseling approach of our Government and their ever changing reasons for the referendum. Anyway, I did some looking around on the web and found a huge amount of negative response to the proposed change to the constitution so I am still hoping that despite the polls it will be a 'no' vote.

One of the better articles I read on the subject is by the Irish Council for Civil Liberties and is on their site their site here.
They also have other interesting articles and documents on the subject on their site. They are an independent body so there aren't any election based motives for their views...

I don't know what any of your views on the subject are, but I feel pretty strongly that at the very least we need to get to the bottom of why we are really being asked to change our constitution, especially as after reading this, and other articles, I can see no reason to do so.
I felt so strongly that I felt compelled to 'get up and do something'. So I sat down at my computer. What can I say, it's a brave new world.
