Rufus Wainwright

On the phone to my sister recently, she asked me if I listened to Rufus Wainwright. When I said no, she advised me to get hold of some of his music. So I did. That's what I'm listening to now. And now I'm saying to you "have you heard Rufus Wainwright? You should get hold of some of his music."

My sister had warned me that he might take a while to get used to, that sometimes the verses seemed almost tuneless... I liked his stuff straight away though. My first impression was a kind of more accessible young John Cale. Here's a link to the first song on "Want One" which I think is excellent:

He now has a new album out - "Want Two" and is doing a tour, including Dublin. I would love to go but I think the date is going to be a problem for me.

Anyway. You should listen to his stuff if you haven't heard it. BTW he is the son of Loudon Wainright III.
