Where's my culture?

In relation the post below, when I first heard about 'Where's Me Culture?' I was told it was 'Wheres My Culture'. I searched for 'Where's My Culture?' in Google and tried wheresmyculture.com and all kinds of other combinations. Only after a while did I think of the old Sultans of Ping song 'Where's Me Jumper' and I tried wheresmeculture.com. So in case anyone. like me, is searching for 'Where's My Culture?' I thought I would post this to point them i nthe right direction!

Cork 2005

If you are wondering what will be happening during Cork 2005 then you are not alone. There has been a general feeling throughout Cork, on the street as it were, that nobody knows what the hell Cork 2005 is all about exactly. Cork is now officially European Capital of Culture, and yet the official Cork 2005 programme has failed to set the world on fire with many people feeling that the events are too highbrow and not of interest to the majority.

I can't claim to have gone through the Cork 2005 programme in any great detail, so I'm only reporting general feelings throughout people I have been talking to here. There have also been several news articles relating to this general feeling of bewilderment about Cork 2005 in the papers recently.

Anyway, the good news is that you can now visit wheresmeculture.com and get involved in Cork 2005!

Where's me culture "is a loose grouping of Cork citizens who wish to realise the potential presented by Cork being European Capital of Culture in 2005."

In other words, go to the site, find out when the next meeting is on, go there and get involved. If you feel there should be a Cork 2005 event where everybody wears squirrels on their heads and sings 'the banks of my own lovely lee' then you can use WMC (where's me culture) to organise it yourself - with the help of all the resources that are made available by like minded individuals coming together.

Cork 2005, European Capital of Culture - it's up to us to make it what we want.

Christmas is coming... my wish list!

Amazon.co.uk: My Wish List

When I was buying presents online last night I kept finding things I was tempted to throw in the basket for myself... so I created a wish list, that way I forced the mouse from "add to basket" to "add to wish list" and tried to trick my compulsive side into thinking it was winning...
